OSCAR BARBOSA, Esq.
Mr. Barbosa founded Diaspora Law revolutionizing the practice of law, and aiming at connecting community oriented attorneys in order to provide comprehensive immigration services. He is an avid researcher and brings his previous experience to provide the assistance the community currently seeks. Mr. Barbosa manages the New Jersey and Virginia offices and also conducts consultations across Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Mr. Barbosa sees immigration as a human rights oriented practice. He previously worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as a Legal Assistant and with the Service Employees International Union, as an organizer.
His previous academic and work experiences have taken him for extended periods to Japan, Brazil, China, the United Kingdom and Chile. He speaks Spanish, and Portuguese.
Mr. Barbosa is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is also an active member of the Justice Alliance Network in Union County, NJ, the Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey, and the Rwanda based Health JumpStart Fundation, Inc. among other community based groups that advocate for the advancement of their societies.
Mr. Barbosa was awarded the Certificate on Exemplary Commitment to Pro-Bono and Public Service. His pledge to public service makes him a reachable attorney with the skills and experience to advocate for his clients.
He is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey as well as Immigration Courts nationwide.
